This is a course for parents of children with ASD or Social Communication difficulties. The child must be verbal, able to stay in a conversation with their parents / caregiver for at least 2 turns in the conversation and be within the ages of 3 and 7 years. These children may have difficulty initiating, maintaining or finishing conversations appropriately, have a limited range of topics to talk about, have difficulty extracting non-verbal information (interpreting body language/facial expressions) and difficulty with tuning into the thoughts/emotions of others - all of these factors tending to place stress on their ability to make and maintain friendships.
The next course will start with a free Orientation Evening on 16th June 2015 and runs through to October 2015. For my first course I am providing the opportunity for two adults to attend this course for the price of $2,250.00. Depending on the level of interest/demand for this course there may be the possibility of this course being funded in the future. Each parent/child will be receiving a least 30 hours of Speech Language Therapy time over the duration of the course, the quality of the course will not disappoint and the strategies you learn will remain ingrained in your everyday interactions with your child forever.
